John Phillip Menard

John Menard serves as ECN Capital’s Chief Risk Officer, overseeing the company’s enterprise information and identifying key risks that could impact ECN’s ability to meet its objectives. His primary responsibilities include implementing a comprehensive risk management process to safeguard the company’s assets, data, proprietary information, and systems. Additionally, Mr. Menard manages ECN Capital’s digital resource management, cyber security, data security, and asset recovery. He also oversees due diligence and background checks for strategic negotiations and collaborates with external agencies as needed.

Prior to joining ECN Capital, Mr. Menard had a distinguished 25-year career with the Toronto Police Service, with the last 15 years dedicated to working within the intelligence community. He is an internationally recognized leader and expert in cyber security, having received extensive training and collaborated with global intelligence agencies at the forefront of emerging informational and cyber risks. Mr. Menard played a key role in the development of Canada’s Provincial and Federal forensic and cyber security frameworks, providing legal and strategic guidance. He also contributed to major international investigations, the creation of new policies and procedures, and the advancement of emerging technologies.
