John Phillip Menard

John Menard is ECN Capital’s Chief Risk Officer focusing on enterprise information including key risks that could potentially affect ECN’s ability to achieve its objectives. His specific responsibilities include the overall implementation of a risk management process which includes protecting the company’s assets, data, proprietary information, and systems. Mr. Menard is also responsible for the Company’s digital resource management, cyber, and data security, as well as asset recovery. John also manages the due diligence and background information in support of strategic negotiations and collaborates with outside agencies as required.

Before joining ECN Capital, Mr. Menard served twenty-five years with the Toronto Police Service. The last fifteen years of his public service was working in the intelligence community as an internationally recognized leader and expert in cyber security. He has received training and worked extensively with international intelligence agencies involved in the forefront of new and emerging informational and cyber risks. Mr. Menard was integral in Canada’s Provincial and Federal forensic and cyber security frameworks including law and strategic advisement. He was involved in several major international investigations, developing policies and procedures, and in the formation of new areas of technological advancement.
